We’ve decided to postpone the Kayak & The Old New York Historical Trail event due to scheduling conflicts with two major Eagle Scout Projects. One project spans two days during the week prior, and another takes place on Saturday, October 4. These are important milestones for our scouts, and supporting them takes priority.
We’ll look to reschedule this incredible day of kayaking and historic exploration for another time. Stay tuned for updates — and thank you for your understanding!
When:
October 05, 2025
Timeline:
11:00 am — 9:00 pm
Season Finale: The Downtown Boathouse’s free kayaking program wraps up on Sunday, October 5. Troop 23 has the rare chance to secure early group access—before the public program begins at 10 AM—by coordinating through their group reservation email. (Formally it's walk-up only, but early access is possible!)
Imagine gliding across the Hudson in a sit-on-top kayak, with Manhattan’s iconic skyline overhead — the skyline, the rebuilt piers of Hudson River Park, and the clean waters that show how far our city has come
After paddling, we’ll stretch our legs by walking The Old New York Historical Trail through lower Manhattan, from Pier 26 to Pier 11—a walking journey through New York City's layered past.
You can explore:
Bring your walking shoes, curiosity, and phone — restrooms are available at parks, churches, or public piers along the way
