Our Lady of Angels has once again called on the Troop to lend a hand in front of the church from 9 am to noon. Service lies at the heart of Scouting, and this is a meaningful chance to connect with our neighbors in Bay Ridge.

During the OLA clothing drive, parishioners and community members bring gently used clothing they no longer need so it can be donated to those who do. Each time a clothing drive comes around, the Troop steps up to help — it's a rewarding way to serve and to earn service hours at the same time.

Scouts greet arriving donors, accept their clothing contributions, and load everything onto the collection van. The job is straightforward, highly visible to the community around us, and greatly valued by Father Abels, who has been a steadfast supporter of our group. We need scouts present and ready to pitch in.

Please coordinate with your Patrol Leader ahead of time — let them know when you can arrive and how long you can stay. Respond promptly when they reach out. All service hours will be logged. (And remember, you can never have too many service hours.)

Required attire is either Class A or Class B, which includes green pants. (No sweats, jeans, etc.)

Service Hours

Scouts who participate will earn service hours. Please sign in with your Patrol Leader upon arrival to ensure your hours are recorded.
