Owl’s Head Park

Owl’s Head Park holds a special place in Troop 23’s heart — both as our first meeting site in the early 1900s and as a local community hub where we regularly host events. The troop originally met in a barn located on what is now part of the park, part of the historic Old Bliss Estate — the very land that became Owl’s Head Park. Today, the park remains a treasure in Bay Ridge, beloved for its rolling hills, meandering paths, and one of the best sunset vistas in Brooklyn.

Covering roughly 24 acres, the park features shaded lawns, a playground, basketball courts, a skate park, and dog runs — making it ideal for everything from skill-building to troop gatherings. It’s also situated on the Sunset Park Greenway cycling route, making it accessible and bike-friendly.

Over the years, our troop has led several service and recruiting events here — from repairing trail depressions to annual pizza parties and Skills Day gatherings. Owl’s Head Park isn’t just a backdrop — it’s where we grow, serve, recruit, and make memories.
