Summer Camp 2027

When and Where

When: July 4, 2027

Location: Camp Aquehonga / Week 1

Summer camp 2027 is a week at Camp Aquehonga, the troop camp on Half Moon Lake at Ten Mile River Scout Camps, where Troop 23 spent its 2026 summer camp. The troop is booked for Week 1, Sunday to Saturday: six nights in camp, and this year the arrival day falls on the Fourth of July.

Everything about the camp itself, from the waterfront and the pool to arrival day and the address for mail, is on the Camp Aquehonga page. This page follows what is decided for 2027 and is updated as the rest is settled.

What Is Settled, What Is Not

Settled: the camp, Camp Aquehonga; the week, Week 1, Sunday to Saturday; the council registration, which the troop has made.

Still to come:

• Meals. Aquehonga offers three ways to eat: patrols cook all three meals at their campsite, the camp brings cooked meals to the site, or a mix of the two. The troop has not chosen yet; in 2026 it took the delivered meals.
• Cost and deadlines. The price of the week for a family, the deposit date and the final payment.
• Times at OLA. When the troop gathers at OLA on Sunday morning and when it is back on Saturday.
• Merit badge classes. When class sign-up opens and which badges the camp offers in 2027.

Each of these will appear here, and in the deadlines on this page, as soon as it is set.

Start Now: the Medical Form

Every Scout and every adult staying at camp needs a complete Scouting America health and medical record, Parts A, B and C. Part C is a physical exam, and at Ten Mile River in 2026 it had to be signed by a doctor within a year of the last day of camp. A school or sports physical does not count for Part C, but one doctor's visit can cover both, so it is worth booking that appointment now rather than in June. We will confirm the 2027 rules when the camp publishes its 2027 Leader's Guide.
